For most template I made I'll use Blogger Page List for easy navigation bar. You don't need to open your template html just to add link.
Use this few step for add you link..
1. Dashboard > Pages
2. Add new page. Choose blank page for make "About me" page. Or Web address to add your custom link.
3. For finishing change the setting of show page as to Top tabs.
Now you can easily add and remove your link.
